Cordova Home Village Resort in Cebu is located in Cordova Mactan Island. This area is a bit isolated and other than the resort there isn’t much in the way of tourist things around. It will mean you will need to get a taxi to get to any other tourist spots or activities. The nearest restaurant is the Lantaw Floating Native Restaurant.
The facilities of the resort make it popular for day use. Entrance fee to Cordova Home Village Resort is 100 PHP (for 11 years and above) and 50 PHP (for 10 years old and below). If you want to rent cottages the small one is PHP 400 (10 people) and the large 500 PHP (15 people). Open tables start from 200 PHP. For party and wedding packages at Cordova Home Village please check rates directly with the resort.
For Saturday night they have their popular buffet dinner which starts from 320 PHP per person. This includes entrance, use of the pool and one round of soft drink. It starts from 5 pm and goes until 8 pm. There is also a live band (see video). They also have a Friday night buffet starting from 7 pm.
The resort offers car and motorbike services, laundry and airport transfers. If you want to see some of the islands around Mactan they offer island hopping packages starting from 650 PHP.
Rooms start from the Studio Room (1400 PHP per night). These come with air conditioning, cable TV, mini bar and hot and cold showers. Overall for the price the rooms aren’t too bad (see my video for my review of Cordova Home Village). For guests wanting to stay longer term they have Standard Rooms (starting from 1800 PHP per night) which come with a kitchen and separate living area. They also have Family Rooms (starting from 3900 PHP per night) which unfortunately I wasn’t able to check out as they were fully booked at the time.
The biggest downer for me is that it doesn’t have a beach. It only has a decent size pool. I do like staying at a resort with a beach. But taken in consideration the price it’s quite reasonable. The staff are lovely and friendly. The food is generally pretty good. I did enjoy the buffet dinner, it was laid back and fun and great value. The guests tend to be more ex-pats and locals, but are friendly and welcoming.

Cordova Home Village has rooms & villas for rent if you want to spend an overnight or a few days there. Their pool is open from 7:00 am until 11:00 pm. This time is very convenient for those who don’t want to be swimming under the scorching heat of the sun. Very typical for night swimming. Entrance fee is Php 100 per head. For kids, I’m not so sure what the age range for kids but I think it’s 5 years old and below, it’s Php 30 per head.
They basically have 2 pools, the main one which is a connection between the kids pool & for the adults. They also have a small pool in their garden area. But we weren’t able to get there as it was closed by the time we decided to take a visit.
They also have this “BBQ Madness” every Friday & Saturday. Wherein for Php 300 per head (Php 150 for kids 5 years old and below) you can enjoy a buffet dinner. They have a few seafoods but it’s the BBQs as the main dish. It’s a different type of buffet as the meat (pork, chicken, fish) are displayed in raw. You actually would choose (as many as you can/want) & have it grilled. At least you have it kinda fresh, fresh from the grill that is. Also you need to get quiet a few since it’s not that easy to wait for your food whenever you ran out in your plate. Use of the pool is already included in the fee. Buffet time is 5:00 – 8:00 pm.
I can say that there service was very much OK. We were set in an outdoor table but when it started to drizzle they let us transfer to a cottage, for free. And they let us hang in there for the duration of our stay. Another good thing about there service is that they have a few performers doing songs during our dinner. What’s nice about this is that they had the entertainment even after we already left (past 9:00 pm). There were only a few guests left but they kept on entertaining. I think most of there performers were family members or close family friends as you can see the closeness in them during breaks. They also did dance numbers which were not scripted. They even encourage guests who want to sing and/or dance to come in front to do it. Their waiters were also very accommodating & were very quick on their feet.
This place is also packed with foreigners. I think the owner of this place is married to a Norwegian as they have these tarps that promotes Norwegian national day.
This place is great for family reunions, team buildings etc…
What’s discouraging about this place, though, are there bathrooms and shower rooms. It’s not really that bad but they can do much more to improve it. There were no trash bins inside these rooms, there were empty shampoo sachets on the floor. Well you can say also that if people do have discipline in them then they shouldn’t have left it there. I was also able to use 1 shower room that didn’t have a door lock.
But overall our experience in this place was great and would be glad to come back.
HOW TO GET THERE:
> By public transpo – take a jeep bound for Parkmall in Mandaue & then another ride going to Mactan Island (any route). Then ones in the island take another jeep bound for Cordova. When you reach the central part of Cordova, where the San Roque Parish Church & municipal hall is located take a trisikad going to Cordova Home Village. Fare is Php 10 per head. Going back is another story as they charge you Php 15 per head. Or you can just take a hike, it’s a little less than 10 mins.
> By private transpo – coming from Opon take a right turn to Day-as barangay road (this road takes you straight to Lantaw Floating Restaurant). At around 380 meters take a left turn. This should take you to the resort. It’s on the left side.

The hotel’s pool area is undoubtedly its major highlight. Guests rave about the well-kept and fun space, comparing it to the ambience of an amusement park. Liza’s Little Garden: 2k Red Roses at Cordova Home Village
The 10,000 (white) Roses Cafe recently made a fuzz in the local online community. Aside from it is the first in Cebu, it became an instant hit because it was absolutely budget-friendly! Just a month later, Cordova Home Village made an intriguing marketing strategy when they launched Liza’s Little Garden with 2,000 red LED roses sprouting from the stony ground along the resort’s entrance. Because of the existing 10k white roses cafe, many people think that the red roses were made to compete with the former; however it seems more of a marketing stunt for the resort.

Cordova Home Village has been there for years and this new attraction within the place is basically driving people to visit or come back. Since this little artificial garden is part of the home village, visitors have to pay Php 100 which is the standard rate for day use / adult entrance fee. This means that you could go ahead use their amenities such as the swimming pool. Gazebos / open tables and food bought outside are charged differently. We were able to get inside and tour around the pool area.
The place is quite easy to locate since it has been there for years now. There are two possible routes in getting there. One, turn right as soon as you reach Gaisano Cordova or turn right at Cordova Park, a famous landmark alongside Sr. San Roque Parish Church. Upon reaching the main entrance of the home village, the security personnel may ask few questions before you could park or enter.
As you draw near the next entrance, you could immediately see the red roses growing under ‘real’ trees. Indeed, there was a touch of authenticity amid the artificiality. The pathway is a bit craggy and really uneven so you have to be careful in treading it especially at night. Liza’s Little Garden is obviously a work in progress as there are still corners or spaces not filled with the led roses yet.
Contrary to what was seen on Facebook, there were only 2,000 red LED roses and not 51,000. I admit, the overwhelming wrong info urged me and probably others to visit.
Same as saying when life gets hard, escape and find time to unwind and de-stress! It’s not running away, it’s taking time to think the best way to puzzle out things 😉
A garden found in Cordova Home Village consists of 2 thousand LED red roses planted electrically and electronically and it’s quite a sight to gaze upon! It’s blooming like forever!😍(with continuous electric supply ofcourse 😅)
It is given to our loved ones to let them know how much we value them! Sign of love, life and sacrifices. Everyone’s willing to pick those roses, get hurt by thorns for the sole purpose of seeing those smiles in the faces of the people they love most. How romantic isn’t it? ❤

We have lots and lots of thorns that made us less attractive and appealing but someone out there maybe brave enough to pick us up despite and inspite of and deserves the unwithered beautiful rose inside us.
