KAWASAN FALLS

Kawasan Falls in Badian near Moalboal, Cebu Philippines. kawasan falls Cebu is a peaceful natural place where you can enjoy many waterfalls of natural spring water located near the southern tip of Cebu Philippines.A gentle hush of rushing ice cool water.. All this and more in Badian’s Kawasan Falls!Aquamarine water, lush tropical greenery, stone vaults, coolness and freshness. This place could be called a paradise lost in the jungles if it was not so touristic. But it is very touristic. Therefore, we will look for the most secluded corner, which is not interesting to most of people, but where you can feel at one with nature.

You have a couple of options on how to get there. The most popular way is to take a bus to the city of Badian, the city where the waterfalls are. Take the bus from Cebu City’s Southern Bus Terminal. There are buses that run regularly to Badian. Just 130 kilometers southwest of Cebu City and about three hours bus ride, the Kawasan Falls is located inside the mountains of Barangay Matutinao.
Once you arrive at the main entrance you will see people offering you for their guide service. They will know where to take you as the canyoneering is at another entrance. The motorbike guys will take you there, and you will proceed to walk the rest of the way river.
The road between the first and second waterfalls is beautiful and easy for anyone. You can go to the third waterfall as well, but after reading about it and being clad in slippers, I brushed off this idea. The third waterfall is smaller than the first and the second ones, and the trail to it is challenging. It’s like a real path through jungles.

Kawasan Falls is a beautiful series of natural waterfalls in the Philippines province of Cebu. It is very popular among tourists as a must-see thing. It can get a a bit crowded to its popularity, especially in the high season. I recommend to go during less busy times of the year – perhaps on a weekday if you want to have a more relaxed experience. The waterfall has a color unlike anything I have seen before. It is literally turquoise. You can take your time and swim in different bodies of water.

The motorbike guys will take you there, and you will proceed to walk the rest of the way river. It is surely something to experience if you are into that sort of thing. This place has some of the best enchanting scenery I have ever seen.Kawasan has many waterfalls. The first one is the largest of the three, and is usually the most crowded. An uphill climb for fifteen minutes will take you to the second falls, and another, and another. Its a good idea to bring in your own food, the resort’s restaurants are not cheap and prices are not marked. We ran into problems with the prices getting higher as the day went on.
As you walk more you will have to cross some small bridges to get to the other side of the river. That is gives you a nice view of the river. There are a few small bridges that you have to cross. Some of them will give you a good view of the length of the river. Along the way, near the falls, is a small hydroelectric power plant that harnesses the energy of Kawasan river. But the most pleasant thing on the way is the Kawasan river. It goes along the trail to waterfalls all the time. Shimmering and splattering, aquamarine water rushes down from the mountains through the thresholds along the dense tropical forests. We really liked the road and the village, which is very different from Moalboal or Malapascua villages in terms of atmosphere. It is much less populated, located in the jungle and there is no road for transport that pass through the village.

One of the things about Kawasan Falls is that it is well-known. It is one of the sights that many tourist want to see while in Cebu Philippines. Because of this it does get a bit crowded, especially during the weekends. And if you go during the high season months it might be even more crowded. If you want more privacy and a quieter experience then I would recommend for you to go during the weekdays in the early morning. If you are coming to Philippines during the low season is another way to take advantage of the fewer crowds.
