Have a Relaxing Weekend At The Green Lagoon Park In Compostela

Days are getting hotter, air is getting warmer, everybody’s ready for summer!!!

Everybody is already hyped up for summer. Have you booked your summer getaway, yet?

For people living solo, for those who prefer traveling or spending their summer 2017 alone, it’s not hard to find a perfect place to go. However, for those who wanted to spend it with their family, finding a “family-friendly” resort is not that easy, especially if you have many kids with you. Two important things you need to consider are the rates and the distance of the place. And a place that spells “inexpensive fun”.

Cebu has numerous resorts catering to both local and foreign tourists visiting the island. A number of these resorts are located in and around metro Cebu. But, there are also some resorts situated in the different towns outside the Queen City of the South. They offer amenities similar to the ones offered in big resorts close to the city. One of these resorts is located in the northern town of Compostela.

Compostela is known for another resort that has been offering a place where locals and visitors can take a break from life for a while. But, the town has other resorts aside from the Stakili Bay Garden Resort, which is the best-known resort in the town (If you dont know about this kind of resort, I have also a blog on this). These resorts have opened to meet the growing tourism industry of the town. Similar to the Stakili Bay Garden Resort, these new resorts offer similar facilities aimed at meeting the needs of locals and visitors of the town.

“MY EXPERIENCE IN GREENLAGOON PARK”

The first time I discovered the beauty of greenlagoon resort was when I was just an elementary student. It was when my grandmother want me to go with her. There was an event where it was “Womens Day” (I guess hahaha) and I was luckily to be with them. Although the trip was kind a boring but when we arrived in the said resort, I was amazed by the place. The surrounding was really clean and it is a very peaceful place. The air was fresh and all of the people I see was really enjoying the place. What a wonderful place it is!

“Green Lagoon Park”

The Green Lagoon Park is located in Barangay Canamucan in the Municipality of Compostela. It is a beach resort featuring a swimming pool where kids and adults can have fun over the weekend. In addition, it also has facilities similar to the ones found in big resorts on the island.

Green Lagoon Park’s huge swimming pool only has a depth of four feet. Not for adults who wanted to do their diving thingy but it’s perfect for the kids. The pool also has two slides which I’m sure every kid and kid-at-heart wants.

If you don’t feel like swimming in pool, you can go enjoy the beach, instead. It’s not as beautiful as the beaches in the northern and southern part of the province. The sand is not powdery white, it’s a bit rocky.

Your kids would still enjoy playing on the sand, though. Just please look after them. There are life guards in the area but there’s no harm if we take caution, too.

They also have several rooms for those who wish to stay overnight. These rooms are all air-conditioned and are fully equipped with cable tv, mini fridge, and a cabinet. Each room has a king-sized bed with a private bathroom complete with toiletries.

The resort also has big nipa hut cottages. You can bring your portable music speakers with you because each cottage has its own electrical outlet.

Green Lagoon Park is also a perfect venue for team building. They have a wide area for team-building activities. Other activities in the resort includes volleyball, zipline, jet-ski, banana boat and many more.

“Resort Fees”

The resort has an entrance fee of PHP20 for adults and PHP10 for children under 12 years old. Swimming at the pool requires a fee of PHP100 from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM and PHP120 after 5:00 PM until 10:00 PM. Children under 12 years old only pay PHP50 for the 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM schedule and PHP70 after 5:00 PM until 10:00 PM. Rental for the cottages start at PHP300 up to PHP500 while room rentals for overnight stays start at PHP1,200. For the moment, the resort does not impose corkage for food brought inside, but they require a PHP10 fee for every bottle of drinks.

“Getting to Green Lagoon Park”

Green Lagoon Park is only 27 kilometers away from the city. You can take a jeepney bound for Compostela or Danao in SM City, Cebu or even in Mandaue. (Fare 18-25 pesos.) Ask the driver to drop you off in Green Lagoon Resort. This is just along the main road.

The Green Lagoon Park is just one of the resorts that opened to meet the needs of locals and visitors to the northern town of Compostela. It offers a place where people can sit back and relax after a long week at work.
